The Board will meet on Thursday March 6, 2008, 4:30 p.m. at 1085 Peoria Street to discuss whether to authorize the Board President to enter into an agreement with Hope Online Charter school, as authorized by state law.

After this meeting, the Board is expected to recess into executive session for the purpose of discussing strategy about upcoming negotiations with the Aurora Education Association.

At the Board’s direction, policy GAA, Monitoring School District Property, has been removed from consideration. Consideration of Policy GCCAA, Staff Sick Leave, has been deferred; it will be considered again after further information about the cost of changes involving adding domestic partners are determined and after negotiations with the teachers’ association. There are three policies which were information items in February and are up for action at the March 4 meeting: GDQD, GCQF and GCCAG. Also added as an information item is Policy BEE [Board Hearings/Appeal Proceedings - (Appeals by Administrative Employees and Classified Non-Supervisory Employees)], which is being reinstituted consistent with the Board’s decision to hear employee termination appeals.
