Transition Plan Applications Due by 3/3

APS Transition Plan 2009-10
At its February 7 meeting, the Board of Education voted to discontinue the Employee Transition program beginning in the 2009-10 school year. The Board also determined it would revisit the program at a future date if the budget permits.
As a reminder, applications for the 2008-09 Transition Plan are due to Human Resources no later than 4:30 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2008. If you have not finalized your decision to transition for 2008-09, it is recommended that you still submit your application in order to be considered. Transition may be rescinded as late as June 30, 2008. Applications are available on apsnet under HR Forms.

Books and materials being considered for adoption by Aurora Public Schools Board of Education will be on display for public inspection beginning Friday, February 15 and continuing through Friday, February 29, 2008. The display will be located at the Division of Instruction, Educational Services Center Building 2, 15751 East First Avenue, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Basic and supplemental materials in the following areas are being considered for adoption:

Elementary and Secondary Mathematics
Career and Technical Skilled Trades and Technical Sciences

Empty Bowls Fundraiser @ Gateway H.S.

This year’s Gateway Empty Bowls Fundraiser takes place on Feb. 29 and supports Lifeboat 14 and Food Bank of the Rockies. Empty Bowls is sponsored the the Gateway Interact Club. The dinner is from 4-8 pm - attendees may come anytime.
More information:
1. Proceeds will benefit Lifeboat 14 (this group helps families located in some of the hotels on Colfax) as well as Food Bank of the Rockies (I can’t believe I left this off!)
2. A $10 donation will cover the dinner as well as a bowl - you are welcome to donate more if you would like. Your donation is tax deductible and we will have receipts for your donation at the door
3. This event is taking place during Lent and we WILL have options for those who do not eat meat.
4. If you are bringing children the cost will be $10 if they are choosing a bowl or $5 if they are only eating dinner.
