Athletics:

Students in 7th and 8th grade are encouraged to participate in our interschool sports program at Columbia. To participate, each student must have on file in the main office a parent permission form and a current physical examination form (the physical is good for one year from date of physical). Each participant must also have medical insurance coverage either through a private company or you may purchase the school insurance. The fee is $24.00 per sport. The maximum amount to be paid by a family with two or more students participating in athletics in the same school will be limited to $80.00 per school year. The maximum amount to be paid by a family with one athlete will be $48.00 per school year. When 2 or more students from the same family go out for a sport during the same season, the maximum amount paid during that season shall be limited to $32.00.
THE PHYSICAL AND PERMISSION FORMS MUST BE ON FILE AND THE FEES PAID BEFORE THE STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO BEGIN PRACTICE.
Below are the beginning and ending dates for each of the sports available at Columbia Middle School. Game and practice schedules will also be given to students by their coaches. Eighth grade students must meet eligibility requirements to participate in games.
- Boys & Girls Track - Starts August 11th, 2008
- Girls Swimming - Starts August 11th, 2008
- Boys Wrestling - Practice starts September 25th, 2008 - Nov. 15th (Finals)
- Girls Volleyball November 20 - Starts November 18th, 2008
- Boys Basketball
- Girls Basketball
- Boys Soccer
(Schedules for above sports will be available from coaches when practice starts.)
