Directors of Student Achievement Update

Student Achievement Teams

Student Achievement teams will be meeting in June to strategically plan for next school year. This is an opportunity to think differently about building school capacity and supporting each other. This time together creates the opportunity to think strategically and focus on how each team can align resources and supports to best meet the unique needs of each building.

This has truly been a year of implementation of many initiatives.  We want to thank all of you for your hard work and dedication and making a difference for our students.

Standards-Based Grading - SBGMany groups of people continue to work toward the implementation of Standards-Based grading for the Fall of 2009. Teachers within the Curriculum Standards Groups (CSGs), principals, and parents have been giving their input on what the specific descriptors are for the reporting system scales. The SBG Research and Development Group is collecting this feedback to create a district position on the K-12 reporting system scales and their descriptors. Meanwhile, the CSGs continue to collect evidence of proficient student work. The elementary SBG group will begin drafting report card guidelines as well. For more information, please visit the SBG website at: http://www.aps.k12.co.us/family/grading.   If you have specific questions or would like to provide input, please contact Rich Patterson or Susan Olezene.
