Scholarship Spotlight: Maria Tinoco
Aurora Central senior Maria Tinoco has the drive to succeed. Tinoco is the first person in her family to finish high school and go on to college.
Tinoco plans to attend the Colorado School of Mines this fall.
John Steinbeck said it best, “The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray.” Tinoco says the famous quote has kept her going through all the tribulations of life because it reminds her that not everything will turn out the way she plans it.
“It motivates me to continue in my endeavors without stopping. Even when my attempts to achieve something seem futile.”
- Maria Tinoco
Aurora Central senior and Daniels Fund Scholarship recipient
She thanks her parents and brother for their support and North Middle School teacher Kurtis Quig for helping her when she needed it most.
