Free pens, glue sticks and folders showed up in APS classrooms this year thanks to the Lowry Christian Community Church. Members sent students back to class with boxes of donated school supplies delivered to Jewell, Lansing and Tollgate elementary schools.

“Our children are our future. It hurts when you know kids don’t have supplies. Our hearts go out to our youth.”
- Louise Glover

The church’s ministry group contacted several APS administrators to determine how they could help the most. The members spent $650 on school supplies this year. The shopping started in July with supplies for Jewell Elementary:

  • 90 erasers
  • 80 scissors
  • 75 bottles of white glue
  • 100 spiral notebooks
  • 288 glue sticks
  • 840 colored pencils
  • 60 markers
  • 840 yellow pencils
  • 40 packages of notebook paper
  • 105 folders
  • 600 ball point pens
  • 160 boxes of crayons
  • 72 rulers

“This is our way of giving back to the community. We help where there is a need.”
- Louise Glover

Fulton and Lansing elementary schools benefited from this program last year.
