South Students Learn Teamwork

South Middle School students recently enjoyed the beauty of the mountains while developing team building skills at Cal-Wood Education Center. More than 40 seventh and eighth-grade student mentors joined the entire sixth-grade class in team building tasks and challenges. The goal of the trip was to establish positive relationships between the classes. Throughout the year, the student mentors will be working with counselors to discuss ways to help sixth-grade students successfully transition into middle school.

“It was an amazing experience for our kids to spend a day in the mountains while gaining valuable team building skills.”
- Jeff Van Iwarden
South M.S. Assistant Principal
