For the opening home game this season, the Gateway High School football team charged onto the field through the school’s colorful, inflatable Gateway Tunnel. Like many college and professional football teams, Gateway’s team now has the first ”sports tunnel” in APS history.
The Aurora Schools Federal Credit Union donated the initial down payment to purchase the tunnel in time for Gateway’s first home game. Gateway parents and students then raised enough funds to pay the remaining balance.
“I’m impressed with how the Aurora community and Gateway students and parents came together to support Gateway’s athletics programs. This tunnel represents the pride students, parents, staff and community members have in Gateway High School.”
