The APS bond program approved by voters in 2002 has realized a savings of more than $4.5 million as a result of 15 bond projects completed under budget.
On October 2, the APS Board of Education approved using these savings to fund three projects:
- Construction of an eight-classroom addition to Rangeview High School
- Design development of a new high school
- Design development of a P-8 school
The board approved funding for the design of the Rangeview addition in April 2006. Construction of the addition will begin this fall, with the addition scheduled to open in August 2008.
The Rangeview addition will ease crowding at the school, which is currently over capacity by about 450 students.
