APS Community Honors Outgoing Board Members
In a special reception before Tuesday night’s board meeting, Superintendent John L. Barry and the APS Board of Education honored outgoing board members Dr. Ed Lord, Susan Tabacheck and Debbie Barton for their years of dedicated service to APS and the Aurora community.
The three leaving board members served a combined total of 22 years in APS:
- Dr. Edward Lord, Director, served the board for a total of 10 years; from 1977 to 1983, and from 2003 to 2007.
- Susan Tabacheck, Secretary, served the board for four years, beginning in 2003.
- Debbie Barton, Director, served the board for eight years, beginning in 1999.
Board President Matt Cook presented each board member with an honorary plaque in recognition of their board service.
