Dr. Ed and Patricia Lord are lifelong Aurora residents and both are graduates of Aurora Central High School.

Dr. Lord earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1958, and earned his doctor of medicine degree from the CU Health Sciences Center in 1962. He was a practicing OB/GYN for four decades, delivering some 8,000 babies.

Pat Lord is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, a retired teacher, and a tireless community activist. In 2001, Pat was one of eight “wonder women” honored for her leadership in the community by the Aurora History Museum and Women’s Organizations of Aurora. She was honored as an active volunteer for children’s activities, including heading a drive that raised $300,000 to build a hospital in the city and helping to form the Aurora Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary.

Dr. Ed Lord, soon to retire from the APS board, served for 10 years; from 1977 to 1983, and from 2003 to 2007. Pat Lord served on the board for 20 years; from 1983 to 2003.

In addition to their long service to the board, Dr. and Mrs. Lord have both been dedicated volunteers in our schools, particularly at Lansing and Park Lane elementary schools. Last year, Park Lane Elementary School planted an evergreen tree on campus in honor of their service.

Their three children attended Lansing Elementary School and South Middle School and graduated from Aurora Central High School.
