American Indian Forum
The diversity of Aurora Public Schools took center stage when American Indian leaders shared their success stories with the community. APS recently presented a special forum called “Hope, Education and Success” at the Aurora Central High School auditorium.
“The purpose of the American Indian Forum is to meet the unique educational and cultural needs of American and Alaska Natives,” said Erle Swanson, APS Coordinator of Equity, Diversity, Family and Community Engagement.
The keynote speaker was Ernest House, Executive Secretary for the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs. The event also included food and entertainment by drummers and dancers.
