Beyoncé Band Member Visits Aurora Hills

Tia Fuller, a professional saxophonist and former Aurora Hills Middle School student, returned to the school to encourage students to succeed. Fuller, who recently toured the world playing for R&B sensation Beyoncé Knowles and maintains a regular performance schedule with her jazz band “The Tia Fuller Quartet,” has recorded two albums and teaches clinics at colleges nationwide.
“Your success depends on your clear vision, perseverance, optimism and faith,” said Fuller.
Accompanied by her younger brother Ashton, who plays the drums, Fuller performed a variety of songs for Aurora Hills students, including one of Beyoncé’s hits.
Fuller plans to re-visit the students and her former band teacher John Toepfer with “The Tia Fuller Quartet” in the near future.
“Tia’s message was very inspiring. She went through so much to get where she’s at. I learned that it takes a lot to be successful, but you can do it if you have perseverance.”
