The Aurora History Museum staff recognized recently awarded West Middle School for contributing to Aurora’s quality of life and heritage.
The museum honored APS, West Middle School students and the William Smith alumni with a “History Makers Award” for collecting oral histories and producing the “West William Smith Historic Journey” video.
For the documentary, nearly 20 West Middle School students interviewed former students and staff members about their memories of West and Historic William Smith High School as West planned to renovate the historic William Smith wing of their building.
