Energy & Resource Conservation Awareness
Student Poster Contest!
APS Students, We Need Your Creative Talents!
To help conserve energy and resources throughout our school district, APS announces a student competition to create posters with slogans that convey the importance of energy & resource conservation.
Winning entries from each school will be evaluated for district-wide recognition and awards at an energy awareness event led by Rangeview H.S. Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Environmental Club organizations, and will be produced and distributed throughout APS.
Contest Guidelines
- Submissions should be focused on one of two categories: energy conservation or recycling. Winners will be chosen for each category.
- Posters promoting energy conservation should focus on what each of us can do everyday to reduce unnecessary lighting, heating & cooling, or appliance and equipment energy usage in our schools.
- Posters promoting recycling should focus on the importance of recycling to our environment and the different types of wastes that are recyclable.
- Submissions must be original work. However, we encourage entrants to view sample conservation posters at www.awarenessideas.com/Energy-Conservation-Posters-s/9.htm for ideas and inspiration.
- Posters can be in any size (11 x 17 or larger recommended) and should include a picture/graphic/drawing accompanied by a slogan.
- Individual students can enter and/or schools can choose to create a single entry to represent the school at the next level of judging to be held February 1st.
Entry registrations must list a consenting, sponsoring teacher. Teacher sponsor/s at each school will be responsible for collecting finished posters, school-level judging & winner selection and communications with district energy consultant (who will get in contact with each sponsoring teacher).- Winning school entries will advance for judging on Friday Feb 1st at which time a winner will be selected for each level (elementary, middle school and high school).
