Aurora Central High School Honors Two Athletes

Aurora Central High School recently inducted two former athletes into the Aurora Central Legends Club.
Ken Krieger was a three year letterman, who finished third in the High School State Tournament and was selected to the All State Team. On graduating from Aurora Central, he continued to improve and won the Colorado State Junior Amateur Golf Tournament. That same year, he qualified for the United States Amateur Tournament. While attending Georgia Southern University, he was selected to the Collegiate All American Golf Team.
After turning professional, Ken became an active member of the Professional Golfers Association of America (P.G. A.). He later qualified for the United States Open Championships in 1981, 1989 and 2000. He qualified for the P.G.A. championships in 1993. His outstanding play continued as he won the Colorado Section of the P.G.A. in 1996, 1997 and 1998, winning the Colorado P.G.A. Player of the Year award in 1996 and 1997.
Don Sessions was selected to the All State Teams in football and baseball. In his senior year at Aurora Central, he was selected to both the Football All State Conference and the All State Team, capping his fall season by being selected to the acclaimed All American Team. He received honorable mention to the All Conference Team in basketball.
In baseball, Don was selected to the All Conference team and was also recognized as an All State player. During his freshman year at the University of Colorado, he concentrated on baseball and as a junior he led the Big 8 Conference in homeruns and RBI’s. Following his college career, Don signed a four year contract with the Houston Astros.
