  • Burgess attended Jewell Elementary School and Aurora Hills Middle School and served as valedictorian for Gateway High School class of 2005.
  • She is currently enrolled at the University of Colorado in Boulder pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, with a minor in Political Science.
  • Burgess is the director of Community Relations for the President’s Leadership Class, which is a rigorous academic four-year program for top students at the university.
  • In fall 2007, Burgess presented the PLC curriculum to Gateway High School students interested in attending the university.
  • She has also served as a Colorado State Capitol Legislative Intern for Representative Morgan Carroll.
