cookThe Organ Donor Awareness Council recently awarded South Middle School student Bryan Cook for his poetry submission for their 2008 Creative Challenge. Cook earned a certificate, trophy and $100 for his winning poem.

Since 1994, Donor Awareness Council has hosted the annual Creative Challenge contest to encourage middle and high school students to think about, talk to their families about, and to illustrate organ, eye, and tissue donation.

The Creative Challenge is open to all middle and high school students in Colorado and Wyoming.

Cook will be recognized at the Organ Donor Awareness Creative Challenge Awards Ceremony on April 13 at the Colorado History Museum.

The Best Person
By Bryan Cook

You don’t need a cape

To be like Superman.

You don’t need to fly

To be a hero.

You don’t need to be famous

To be remembered.

You don’t need to be rich

To be the better person.

All you need is to save lives.

You can donate tissue and organs

To be exactly the best person.
