Aurora Central Student Earns Prestigious ScholarshipAurora Central High School student Demaris Smith has engineered a full-ride scholarship. Smith recently learned that he earned the Gates Millennium Scholarship. The scholarship, funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will cover the cost of tuition and room and board for six years of college.

Smith, who will graduate in the “Top Ten” of his class this May, is very excited. “I am happy that I’m going to college and I know how it will be paid for,” Smith said.

Smith plans to attend the Colorado School of Mines and major in engineering and business.
