Five Hinkley Heroes Added to Wall of Distinction
Principal Peter Mosby inducted five more people to Hinkley High School’s Wall of Distinction at a ceremony on April 9. The honorees graduated from Hinkley or have a record of outstanding service to Hinkley. In addition to receiving awards, they will also be added to Hinkley’s large-screen LCD display.
The purpose of Hinkley’s Wall of Distinction is threefold:
- To honor and perpetuate the memory of those individuals who have a record of outstanding achievement in his / her field, or who have made significant contributions to his / her field and / or the community at large after retirement / graduation
- To honor and perpetuate the memory of those individuals who have a record of outstanding service to Hinkley, even if they did not graduate from Hinkley
- To offer role models to current Hinkley students
This year’s Hinkley Heroes added to the high-tech Wall of Distinction include:
- Mr. Stan Pursley - retired after 31 years with APS as a teacher, coach and administrator, including the longest tenure of a principal at Hinkley High School from 1981-1993
- Mr. Mike Nachazel - served 30 years in education, including time as the principal at Hinkley High School
- Clifford Lushbough - recognized for 33 years in education, including 25 years at Hinkley High School
- Wende Curtis - graduated from Hinkley in 1981 and currently owns Comedy Works Club in Denver
- Lt. David Tiedeman - graduated from Hinkley in 1985 and recently received the Secretary of Homeland Security Award for Valor for his service to the military
