Students Spruce Up their School for Arbor DayEach year, Aurora Public Schools students roll up their sleeves, grab shovels and celebrate Arbor Day. This year, students and staff at Lyn Knoll Elementary School planted a Blue Spruce tree after a week-long partnership with the City of Aurora.

The Forestry Division of the Parks and Open Space Department presented information to students throughout the week to promote tree plantings. Students earned gift bags after completing lessons about the environment.

Arbor Day originated in Nebraska City, Nebraska and encourages individuals and groups to plant and care for trees.
