Park Lane Elementary school recently distributed 12 bikes to deserving students as part of a Bike Giveaway Contest. Community members donated the bikes to Park Lane, including APS Board of Education member Jane Barber.
A group of teachers from Park Lane repaired all of the bikes to put them in safe working order using a $400 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Aurora. Kiwanis also supplied a new helmet to go with each bike. Students who wanted to enter the contest had to write an essay answering the topic, “Why I need a Bike.”
