Rangeview Students Win “Historical” Competition
Rangeview students “stepped up to the plate” to show their excellence in academics at Rangeview’s Second Annual Colorado History Day Competition. Of the 655 students competing from around the state, more than half competed in the Senior division for the top two places in each category. Each of winning students will represent Colorado at the National History Day competition in June.
Rangeview students won three awards, and two Rangeview groups will be continuing on the trail to the National Championship. This year ’s winners include:
- History of Colorado Award - Documentary on Japanese-American Internees at Amache Relocation Center - Sarah Han and Tho Nguyen
- 2nd Place Individual Exhibits - Segregation - Desegregation - Now What? - Robert Harris
- 1st Place Group Exhibits - The Road to Integration - Alysha Navarra and Amy Hughes
Robert Harris, Alysha Navarra and Amy Hughes will be competing for awards and scholarships at this year’s National History Championships. Congratulations to our students and all the teachers involved in History Day this year, including Mike Hamilton, Robyn Leary and Matthew Willis.
