Three Aurora Public Schools students are on target to proudly graduate this year with a high school diploma and a degree from the Community College of Aurora. The students successfully completed their undergraduate studies while taking classes at CCA. The three also completed a program of study at Pickens Technical College.

The three students include:

  • Ryan Allen, Gateway High School
  • Christina McDavid, Gateway High School
  • Kyle Peterson, Hinkley High School

All three made the leap to college life earlier than most students. Kyle Peterson said CCA was intimidating at first, but as time went on it got easier. Peterson said CCA has a great learning environment and the teachers want students to succeed.

“His father and I are very proud of Kyle and proud of CCA and Aurora Public Schools. APS and CCA have provided many students the opportunity to advance through its dual credit partnership. Some students may not have achieved success without this kind of opportunity.”

Allen, McDavid and Peterson are on track to earn their Associate of Applied Science, Applied Technology degree from CCA.
