Ride to Dream School Program

Written by the APS Communication Department @ 11:13 am Print This Story Print This Story

APS students know more about the I-225 light rail corridor than most, thanks to the “Ride to Dream” program offered by the Regional Transportation District (RTD). North Middle and Aurora Central High students interested in engineering, planning, or construction management careers were chosen by their teachers for the 2007-08 RTD program.

The eighth and tenth grade students learned everything there is to know about RTD’s FasTracks Program. The students were involved in the planning, environmental, and preliminary engineering processes surrounding the FasTracks I-225 Corridor. Students learned how math, science, and problem solving relate to the transportation field.

The school program included approximately 36 hours of field trips, presentations, and other activities. The program is expected to continue during the 2008-09 school year with a new group of students.
