APS HOSTS P-20 EDUCATION COUNCIL
Aurora Public Schools will host Governor Bill Ritter’s next P-20 Education Council meeting. The agenda includes a legislative review, a presentation on P-13 dropout predictors/indicators by national researcher Dr. Martha Maclver from the Johns Hopkins University, and a group discussion on the future work of the P-20 council.
Governor Ritter’s P-20 Education Coordinating Council is tackling one of Colorado’s greatest challenges: ensuring that the education system is preparing students for the demands of the 21st century.
“The goal of the P-20 Council is to create a seamless ‘education highway’ from pre-school to grad-school,” Governor Ritter said. “As a state, we must do a better job preparing Colorado’s young people for the rigors of a 21st century economy.”
The next P-20 Education Council Meeting is set for June 16 at 1 p.m. at William Smith High School, 400 Airport Blvd., Aurora.
