DENVER BRONCOS BUILD NEW APS FOOTBALL FIELD
The Rangeview High Raiders are kicking off the 2008-09 school year on a brand-new artificial turf football field, thanks to a partnership involving the Denver Broncos and the City of Aurora.
APS received a $250,000 grant through the NFL and the Denver Broncos to install an impressive artificial turf field at Rangeview High. The City of Aurora donated equipment and countless man hours to excavate the field and prep it for installation.
The field is the result of a number of partnerships:
-
APS Maintenance & Operations
-
APS Athletics & Activities
-
APS Grants Management
-
Denver Broncos Football Club
-
City of Aurora Parks & Open Space Department
-
Aurora Youth League
-
Pro Turf Solutions
-
DLH Architecture
Representatives with the Denver Broncos, the City of Aurora, and Rangeview High coaches and players will speak at the unveiling ceremony. Junior and senior football players dressed in Rangeview gear will attend the event and hold a brief practice following the program. Media are encouraged to photograph/film the players during the practice.
Media interested in attending the press conference, football practice and luncheon should park in the main lot (west side of school off of Iliff Avenue) then proceed to the north side of the building to the football field.
