APS TO CELEBRATE OPENING OF JAMAICA CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Thanks to bond dollars, APS will open the new Jamaica Child Development Center on August 21. The center joins the APS Child Development Center on Laredo Street as the second school dedicated solely to preschool students.
Please join APS Superintendent John L. Barry, Board of Education members and the community to celebrate the new preschool at a Grand Opening Celebration:
Jamaica Child Development Center
800 Jamaica Street
Thursday, August 21, 5 - 6:30 p.m.
The preschool program is funded by the Colorado Department of Education and serves at-risk students who reside in the APS district.
The district converted the building that was previously Jamaica Elementary School to a preschool with bond funds approved by voters in 2002. The building improvements include remodeled bathrooms and classrooms, new playground equipment suitable for preschool children, and additional staff and visitor parking.
