STUDENTS ATTEND DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION
For the first time in 100 years, Denver will be the site of the presidential nominating convention. As part of the Democratic National Convention, 400 students from Aurora Public Schools will attend a health symposium on Monday, August 25.
The 2008 Symposium on Health is one in a series of issue-oriented, nonpartisan events. The health symposium is designed as a roundtable discussion led by a facilitator, encouraging a dynamic, substantive interchange among participants. The APS students were invited to take part in the symposium.
Profiles of the roundtable participants will include:
- U.S. Senators, members of congress, governors and/or other elected officials
- Chief executive officers of sponsoring organizations
- Prominent physicians and health care professionals, executive directors of major health facilities and hospitals, and health organizations and non-profits
- Academicians, journalists, and other professionals
