Superintendent and Board of Education Honor Classified Employees
Please read the following letter and proclamation from Superintendent John L. Barry and the APS Board of Education regarding Colorado Classified School Employees Week.
APS Teammates,
Imagine what our schools would be like if there were no assistants, secretaries, bus drivers, construction design support, budget technicians, copier services, IT support, maintenance staff, educational assistants, para professionals, warehouse support, custodians, or cafeteria workers. Our schools would not function. During the week October 12-18, APS joins districts across Colorado to celebrate Classified School Employees Week.
I want to take time out to celebrate the more than 1,600 APS support staff that take care of our employees, students and keep our schools running smoothly. Classified staff members do everything from safely transporting our students, preparing and serving nourishing meals, to assisting in classrooms and offices and keeping our buildings safe and clean. These dedicated individuals deserve recognition for the outstanding work they do.
I know how vital our classified employees are to student success. I sincerely thank you for all you do.
John L. Barry
