APS Shines with Contractors in Bond Program
According to a recent survey conducted by the Aurora Public Schools’ Citizens Bond Oversight Committee, a majority of contractors involved in the APS 2002-08 Bond Program rated their experience as ‘Good ‘or ‘Outstanding.’ The CBOC developed the survey to provide information related to APS’ business practices with vendors during the recent bond program process.
The APS 2002-08 Bond Program included technology system upgrades, existing facilities improvements and new facilities construction. The survey included items related to the solicitation, execution and closeout phases of the process, as well as general categorical information.
On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 representing ‘Outstanding’ and 4 representing ‘Good,’ more than 80% of the vendors rated their experiences with APS during the solicitation, execution, and closeout phases of their projects as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding.’ More than 81% of the vendors also rated their experience with APS as better than their experiences with other school districts.
Some comments gathered from the survey:
- “The solicitation process was handled very professionally.”
- “Communication and collaboration during the execution phase of our project was excellent.”
- “Project documentation and follow-up was excellent.”
- “APS was great with problem resolution and treated us fairly.”
- “We found all aspects of doing business with APS to be professional, clear, fair and timely.”
