APS SHOWCASED AT NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Technology is vital to learning in Aurora Public Schools. After a recent visit by representatives with the National Middle School Association (NMSA), APS was invited to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom at a national conference.
The NMSA annual conference comes to Denver on October 30. APS will be showcased at the conference as part of the “21st Century Classroom.” A local architect will build classrooms at the Colorado Convention Center for the NMSA conference.
The classroom will be staffed by APS teachers and students. The teachers and students will be involved in authentic learning during the conference, aided by the latest in technology. The teachers and students will bring their current lessons, work and projects with them so it won’t be a demonstration of the technologies, it will be the technologies in action facilitating teaching and learning in a real classroom.
- Superintendent John L. Barry will visit the “21st Century Classroom” at 10 a.m. on October 30 and will be blogging with students. Media are encouraged to stop by and see technology in action.
