APS Celebrates American Education Week
APS and public schools throughout the nation celebrate American Education Week, Nov. 16-22. This year’s theme, “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility,” reminds us of the commitment to student success that teachers, school staff, parents and community members must have.
Every day throughout APS, our teachers and support staff demonstrate our responsibility of providing a quality education for all of our students. This year, APS teachers collectively bring more than 7, 400 years of experience to our students. Beyond measure, is the degree of care and commitment that all of our staff have for our students.
APS students also have the support of parents and community members that volunteer in our schools, donate resources and vote. The passage of APS measures 3A and 3B are a clear example of our community’s commitment to our students.
I applaud your dedication to making our public schools great. Thank you for what you do every day for our students.
Sincerely,
John L. Barry
Superintendent
Aurora Public Schools
