The $215 million bond construction program provides approximately $201 million for building improvements and nearly $14 million for technology. Construction will be completed over a five-year period, beginning in 2009 and ending in 2013.

The construction of a new high school and P-8 school at 6th Avenue Parkway and Harvest Road will be a priority during the first 2-1/2 years of the bond program. Construction of the new P-8 school will begin in spring 2009, and work will start on the new high school during the summer. The P-8 school will open in fall 2010. The high school is scheduled to open in fall 2011.

Other projects scheduled to begin in spring 2009 include:

  • Rangeview High School– new kitchen and building renewal
  • Wheeling Elementary School– gymnasium addition and building renewal
  • Laredo Elementary– gymnasium addition and building renewal
  • Gateway High School– roof repairs
