Arkansas Elementary Celebrates DARE Graduates
Arkansas Elementary honored more than 80 of its fifth-grade students for their completion of the D.A.R.E. program at a recent celebration and luncheon. Coordinated by Arkansas Principal Dr. Alejandra Morales and Aurora Police Department Officer Mike “Gino” Mangino, the graduation ceremony featured guest speaker Deborah Takahara, Fox31 News Co-anchor and reporter.
The ceremony also featured the reading of award-winning D.A.R.E. essays by fifth-grade students, as well as the presentation of certificates to all of the graduates.
D.A.R.E. — Drug Abuse Resisitance Education– is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children from kindergarten through 12th grade how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives.
The Arkansas Elementary PTA sponsored this year’s D.A.R.E. graduation and luncheon.
