Deputy Superintendent Gives a Hand at Warehouse
The APS warehouse recently had a new employee for the day, Deputy Superintendent Tony Van Gytenbeek. This wasn’t just a courtesy visit, however. Van Gytenbeek showed up ready to work.
At 7 a.m. sharp on our frozen food delivery day, Van Gytenbeek showed up and helped deliver about four tons of food to APS schools. And he did all of this during the first significant snowfall this winter.
“Very impressive!” said James Hallez, Tony’s work partner for the day. “I thought he would just watch what we were doing, but he kept doing more than his fair share. All that and he never quit smiling even though it was slippery and cold out.”
The APS warehouse staff knows that the Deputy Superintendent has a lot of important work to do, but if he ever wants to, he is more than welcome to come help us!
