Hinkley Showcases Interactive Technology
Hinkley High School recently highlighted a range of interactive technology and multimedia curriculum at the Morgridge Family Foundation Promethean Kickoff. More than 60 teachers from Denver Public Schools, RE-1 Valley Schools and Aurora Public Schools who received Morgridge grants attended the event to learn how to incorporate the new instructional technologies, like Promethean interative white boards, into their classrooms.
The kickoff allowed teachers to learn more about interactive white board technology, celebrate the selection process, and to understand all components of the grant they had received with an emphasis on training.
In May, 2008, the Morgridge Family Foundation formed the 21st Century Classrooms Collaboration with the vision that interactive instructional technology will be used as tools to impact student achievement, teacher engagement and retention. Through a competitive application process, only 350 applicants in the state of Colorado were selected to receive interactive toolkits. These kits included interactive whiteboards, formative assessment tools, and teacher training from 21st CCC partners SMART Technologies and Promethean.
Staff members at Hinkley High School earned more than $220,000 in grants from the Morgridge Family Foundation to implement the interactive technology in their classrooms.
