Dartmouth Principal Earns National Certification
The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has announced that Jean Becker, a principal at Dartmouth Elementary School, has successfully renewed her certificate for National Board Certification, the highest credential in the teaching profession.
By successfully completing the renewal process for certification, Becker continues to be an advocate for educational reform and champions policies that support teaching excellence. She is among the nearly 74,000 National Board Certified Teachers who are part of this country’s education reform movement that focuses on ensuring that every student has access to an accomplished teacher.
In order to renew National Board Certification, a teacher must develop a portfolio that contains compelling evidence of the NBCT’s professional growth linked to student learning since achieving certification. Renewal candidates must begin the renewal process during their eighth or ninth years as National Board Certified Teachers.
Congratulations, Jean Becker!
