State Wrestling Championships begin Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Pepsi Center @ 7:15 p.m. The tournament will conclude with the finals Saturday night.
Eight wrestlers will represent APS. Gateway leads the district with four qualifiers, followed by Aurora Central with three and Rangeview with one. The teams are coached by Jeremy Hoffmann (GHS), Conrad Parra (ACHS) and Tim Corby (RHS).
The qualifiers include:

- Philip Nguyen 112 lbs.
- Jeff Ibanez 119 lbs.
- Gateway
- LaDavis Mungin 130 lbs.
- Brent Willis 145 lbs.
- Justin Freeman 152 lbs.
- Renato Fiero 160 lbs.
- Rangeview
- Hunter McGuinnis 160 lbs.
