AURORA SCHOLARS HONORED
The Aurora City Council will honor several APS students through the inaugural Aurora Scholars program. The program, designed to identify students who strongly contribute to the life and community of their school, was created as a way for the City of Aurora, schools, and families to come together to celebrate the achievements of Aurora’s future leaders. Targeting first graders through seniors, the program will recognize one student from every grade in every school building. The students will be honored at a special ceremony:
Thursday, April 23
6:30 p.m.
North Middle School
12095 Montview Boulevard
Aurora, Colorado 80010
Selection of students is conducted by school principals, who may receive input from teachers and guidance counselors. The program aims to honor not just those who excel academically, but also those who may be excellent athletes, great citizens, dedicated volunteers or otherwise make significant contributions within the school community.
Every student will receive a certificate, a photo with Mayor Ed Tauer or another city designee, and free tickets or coupons donated by City of Aurora departments.
