North Art Students and DAVA Donate to Ronald McDonald House
Art students at North Middle School recently decorated a collection of furniture to donate to the local Ronald McDonald House. Working with North art teacher Brenda Van Dyke and Downtown Aurora Visual Arts art instructor Katie Taft, the students painted thrift store furniture with pictures of Dr. Seuss, Charlotte’s Web, Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse, etc.
The students painted the whimsical storybook characters and themes on rocking chairs, bookshelves, end tables and coat hooks to provide bright and encouraging furniture for the children and their families.
On April 29, the students delivered the furniture to the Ronald McDonald House and received an informative tour.
DAVA offers an after school art enrichment program to interested students at North Middle School.
