Move over Milton Bradley - APS Art Teachers Create the Ultimate GAMES!

Art Teachers Create GamesAPS art teachers recently met for “art class” in April to create games for their students which focus on the “Elements of Art,” which include line, shape, color, form, value, texture, and space. Led by their colleague Aaron Ramirez, the first class included brainstorming possible games. The instructors were then each assigned one element to focus their project.

As homework, the teachers created, perfected, and packaged a game based on their assigned element. During the final meeting, the teachers explained the rules and demonstrated their games. They now have a series of fun, educational projects that they can use with their students.

The art teachers that participated in this project included:

  • Thad McCauley (pictured bottom left)
  • Deb Sticher (pictured top right)
  • Ameet Patel (pictured bottom right)
  • Aaron Ramirez
  • Lynn Pravecek
  • Diana Goodreau
  • Kate Redding
