APS Students Win Prestigious Scholarships
Several APS high school seniors have earned major scholarships to attend college next fall.
Natalie Nicholls (pictured at right) won the prestigious Boettcher Scholarship, which covers all expenses for students who attend college in Colorado. Every year, hundreds of high school students apply for the scholarship and only 40 are awarded.
Gateway High School student Phillip Acosta won an appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Acosta competed with over 1,800 applicants around the nation to earn one of only 280 appointments to enter the USMMA. This intensive four-year venture, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree, is valued at $205,000.
Eight APS students won Daniels Fund Scholarships.
