Aurora LIGHTS - Paris and Park LaneWritten by Jennifer Stadler

Park Lane and Paris elementary students recently attended a presentation of “A Lady Alone”- Elizabeth Blackwell, M.D., the First American Woman Doctor. The students learned how Dr. Blackwell over came all obstacles and graduated at the top of her class in 1849.

The third and fifth graders attended a one hour presentation as part of the Aurora LIGHTS partnership with the Health Sciences Library. Nearly 130 students from the two elementary schools attended the presentation.

Jennifer Stadler is an intern with the APS Communication Department. Jennifer is majoring in Mass Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations and Advertising at the University of South Dakota.
