Students Volunteer at 9News Community Health Fair
Eighth grade students recently participated in the 9News Community Health Fair, hosted by North Middle School. Organizers said the students were enthusiastic, helpful and well-prepared. As part of the program, two students recreated “Captain Nutrition” as a real superhero with a villain sidekick.
The event supports the Health Sciences and Technology program at North Middle School. A $3.9 million Aurora LIGHTS grant is shining the light on health sciences and creating a pathway that leads students into health care professions. This partnership includes APS, the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus, Community College of Aurora, Metro Community Provider Network, the Colorado Area Health Education Center System, and the Central Colorado Area Health Education Center.
The student group will volunteer at a similar community health fair at the Children’s Museum in June.
