That’s a Good Idea!
Congratulations to Aurora Frontier K-8 School Art Educator Thad McCauley for submitting a winning energy conservation idea to the APS Good Idea Program.
McCauley suggested that APS discontinue the use of regular light bulbs and invest in energy-saving, long-life bulbs. As a result, APS staff recently approved the purchase of 4,000 light bulbs that consume 12.5% less energy than the previous ones. McCauley will receive a monetary award after one full year of implementation to allow staff to measure the savings.
Through the APS Good Idea Program, staff members may earn a one-time payment of thousands of dollars based on their idea. All non-administrator and non-professional technical staff members are eligible. Groups who submit an idea together will split the award equally.
