COLORADO’S SCHOOLVIEW FINALIST
FOR PRESTIGIOUS ADOBE MAX AWARD
Online Voting Now Open
The Colorado Department of Education announced recently that www.SchoolView.org and the Colorado Growth Model have been nominated for an Adobe MAX Award, a global awards program that recognizes the best uses of Adobe software for creating engaging experiences.
The public can vote for SchoolView, one of three finalists in the education category at http://max.adobe.com/awards/finalists/. Winners will be selected via online voting until Tuesday, October 6 when the winners are announced live at the MAX event.
“I am so proud of the technology and assessment teams at CDE,” said Commissioner of Education Dwight D. Jones. “We are all committed to making student achievement data meaningful to students, teachers and the public as a whole, and SchoolView gets these conversations started.”
Launched in August, SchoolView is a Web portal that provides unprecedented transparency for all school performance data. It seeks to fundamentally change conversations about how to dramatically improve students’ educational outcomes through a common understanding of the strengths and weaknesses in Colorado’s educational system.
“We strongly encourage everyone who cares about how well Colorado’s education system is doing to take a look at this new view of measuring school performance,” said Richard Wenning, Associate Commissioner at CDE. “Vote early and often and please spread the word.”
The SchoolView portal was developed by CDE, the Center for Assessment and Universal Mind and contains the Colorado Growth Model, a Learning Center option to guide users through the many kinds of information in the new portal and a Community Connections online forum.
