Students and staff at Murphy Creek K-8 celebrated Red Ribbon Week in a big way. A National Guard helicopter landed at the school, as part of a joint effort with the National Guard and the Joint Counterdrug Task Force. Members of the National Guard then talked with the students about Red Ribbon Week. Colorado Rapids mascot Edson the Eagle also joined in on the fun.
Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States.
