Four board members took the oath of office on Nov. 10. Board members Matt Cook, Jeannette Carmany, and Jane Barber are beginning their second terms. New member JulieMarie Shepherd is beginning her first term on the board. Shepherd is a Hinkley High School graduate who is earning her Ph.D.
Members Peter Cukale, Mary Lewis and Amy Prince are in their first terms.
The APS Board of Education is a group of citizens elected by voters to provide leadership and establish policies for the school district.
Thank you to outgoing board member Judy Edberg for her four years of service to the board. Edberg, who did not seek a second term, will focus on her family and her special role as “Grandma.”
