He co-piloted his first flight at only 12 years old. Now, Jamail Larkins spends his time sharing his love of flying with students. Larkins recently spoke with students at Aurora Hills Middle School about his passion and perseverance.
The students who attended the presentation are APS STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Pathway students. Larkins is currently on his “Dream Launch Tour,” encouraging students to follow their passions in aviation and space.
“We often tell students ‘the sky’s the limit’ and yet I am not sure students understand what that means,” said Aurora Hills Principal Darla Stumpp. “Larkins’ visit puts a face to the expression and lets students know age should not stand in their way. If they really want to reach the sky, it is possible. Larkins is an example they can also achieve the sky.”
Larkins also spoke to 350 Rangeview High School students during his APS visit. He was recently featured on the David Letterman show.
